UC Irvine's Department of Neurology has a one-year Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) accredited fellowship program in clinical neurophysiology emphasizing electromyography (EMG) and neuromuscular medicine. Training focuses on EMG, single fiber EMG techniques and nerve and muscle biopsy analysis. Fellows will be exposed to EEG and epilepsy. Clinical research opportunities are available. The fellowship provides comprehensive training in Neuromuscular disorders including diagnosis and clinical management of inherited and acquired neuromuscular disorders (General Neuromuscular, Neuropathy, MDA, ALS and Myasthenia Gravis Clinics), training in electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG, single fiber EMG, quantitative sensory testing and autonomic testing ), as well as nerve and muscle biopsy analysis.
